Bengals Lose At Home To Patrick Henry
Bassett's Shaq Finney gave the Bengals a lead with an 80 yard touchdown run. However, the lead didn't last long as the Patriots went back on top 12 - 7, and then 19 - 7 before the half. The second half was well played by both teams holding the score the same until 17 seconds left when Patrick Henry tacked another touchdown on to make the final 26 - 7. The Bengals travel to Jefferson Forest next Friday for a 7:00 p.m. start.
Bengals Win Close One In Carroll County
The Bengal's Zach Atwood kicked a 25 yard field goal as the time ran off the clock to give Bassett their first win of the season. The Bengals jumped out to an early 7 - 0 lead on their 2nd play from scrimmage, when Dashaun Valentine hit Shaq Finney in the corner of the endzone for the score. Carroll County tied the score at 7 before the half. The Bengal's Shaq Finney returned a punt 54 yards for his, and the Bengals second touchdown of the night, giving the Bengals a 14 - 7 lead. Carroll County tied the game with 1:59 left in the 4th quarter. Both teams had a possession in the final two minutes and Bassett's Shaq Finney broke tackles, carrying the ball to the 19 yard line, helping to set up the Field Goal to win the game.
Bengals Lose Close One In Richlands
The Bengals traveled to Richlands for their second scrimmage where they played the Blue Tornadoes in a benefit game. The game went back and forth before Richlands scored with 1:28 left in the 4th quarter to win the game 31 - 28. The Offense recorded two touchdowns on the evening, both by Shaq Finney. Antonio Penn ran a Kickoff back for a score and Patrick Blankenship recovered a fumble in the endzone on Defense. The Bengals open their regular season next week at Carroll County.
