Game One           Away     vs.          Carroll County

               

                Result:             Lost   10 - 0

 

            The Junior Bengals started their season off on the road against Carroll County.  The played tough the entire game and only trailed 2-0 with a little under two minutes to go.  Carroll added a touchdown and Extra Points with under one minute to go to spread out the score.

 

            The Bengals play Patrick Henry on Thurs. 8/30/2007.

Game Two          Home    vs.          Patrick Henry

               

                Result:             Won   14 - 0

 

            Congratulations JV Football Team with your win over Patrick Henry of Roanoke on Thursday.  The defense started the victory when Patrick Salmons picked up a fumble and ran it in for the six point lead.  Chris Hurd kicked the extra point giving us the early seven point lead.  The offensive line ten took charge and dominated the game allowing Dustin Hardy to throw the TD pass to Josh Hairston who made an outstanding catch to give us six more points.  Stacey Fontaine kicked the extra point giving us the final point scored in the game.  Your hard work really paid off and now it’s time to get ready for McMichael of North Carolina.

Game Three        Away     vs.          McMichael (NC)

               

                Result:             Tied   12 - 12

 

            The Junior Varsity Bengals traveled to North Carolina Thursday and ended a hard fought battle with a 12 – 12 tie.  The Bengals made some miscues on both sides of the ball that cost them the opportunity to win.

 

            The Bengals play Hidden Valley Titans on Thurs. 9/13/2007.

Game Four          Away     vs.          Hidden Valley

               

                Result:             Lost   19 - 6

 

            The Junior Varsity Bengals traveled to Roanoke Thursday and took on the Hidden Valley Titan J.V. Squad.  The Bengals played very hard but came away with a 19 – 6 loss.

 

            The Bengals play Christiansburg at home on Thurs. 9/20/2007.

Game Five           Home    vs.      Christiansburg

               

                Result:             Lost   20 - 0

 

            The Junior Varsity Bengals hosted Christiansburg on Thursday and  was defeated 20 – 0 in front of the home crowd.  The Bengal defense figured out what Christiansburg was doing on offense, but it was a little too late to make a game of it.  The young Bengals will go back to work this off week in preparation for the district schedule coming up.

 

            The Bengals play at Patrick County on Thurs. 10/04/2007.

Game Six            Away     vs.      Patrick County

               

                Result:             Lost   21 - 6

 

            The Junior Varsity Bengals traveled to Patrick County last Thursday and

played a tough fought game against the host Cougars.  The Junior Varsity Team is

improving weekly, but are still having trouble in the win column.  However, with hard work and determination, accompanied with the improvements being shown, the record will not show the success of the J.V. Season.  Keep up the hard work, the success of the Varsity Squad shows what hard work in the off season will do.

 

            The Bengals play Tunstall at home on Thurs. 10/11/2007.

Game Seven        Home    vs.      Tunstall

               

                Result:             Won   20 - 0

 

            The Junior Varsity Bengals hosted the Tunstall Trojans on Thursday and came away with their 2nd win of the season.  Improvements continued to show with an effective running and passing game in recording the victory.  Keep up the hard work and congratulations to the Junior Bengals in getting homecoming  activities off to a good start.

 

            The Bengals play Jefferson Forrest at home on Thurs. 10/25/2007.

Game Eight         Home    vs.      Jefferson Forrest

               

                Result:             Lost   52 - 12

 

            The Junior Varsity Bengals hosted the Jefferson Forrest Cavaliers on Monday due to their game being rained out on Thursday.  The junior Bengals had trouble getting anything going on both sides of the ball.  Execution was not there and focus on the fundamentals of the game will be enhanced in the short week ahead.

 

            The Bengals play Martinsville away on Thurs. 11/01/2007.

 

                                    RECORD:       2 – 5 - 1

Game Nine          Away     vs.      Martinsville

               

                Result:             Won   6 - 0

 

            The Junior Varsity Bengals traveled to Martinsville Thursday evening and came away with a 6 – 0 victory.  The Bengals scored in the 4th quarter on a fumble recovered by Nick Riley that he scooped up and ran into the endzone.  The defense held on for the shutout and played well holding Martinsville on their home turf.

 

            The Bengals play Magna Vista for their final contest on Thurs. 11/08/2007.

 

                                    RECORD:       3 – 5 - 1

Game Ten                Home      vs.      Magna Vista

               

                Result:             Won   26 - 16

 

            The Junior Varsity Bengals hosted their cross-county rivals, Magna Vista Thursday night at Ed Bassett Stadium for their final game of the season.  The Bengals had trouble hanging on to the ball in the cold temperatures giving Magna Vista the ball 6 times on turnovers.  However, the Bengals would not be denied their 4th win of the season by battling through the turnovers in recording the victory.

 

            The off season is upon the Junior Bengals and a lot of work is needed to be done to fill holes left by a big graduating class on Varsity.
