Game One           Home    vs.          Carroll County

               

                Result:             Lost   28 - 14

 

            The Junior Bengals started their season at home Thursday against Carroll County.  The teams traded touchdowns early and the game stayed tied for the majority of the 1st half.  Carroll County found some weak spots that they exploited in the second half to pull away with the victory.

 

            The Bengals play at Patrick Henry on Thurs. 8/28/2008.

Game Two          Away     vs.          Patrick Henry

               

                Result:             Lost   42 - 0

 

            The Junior Varsity Team traveled to Patrick Henry on Thursday and had trouble with the single wing offense ran by the Patriots.  The Bengal Offense could not get anything going and the Patriots took advantage of the deception of their offense in recording the victory over the Bengals.

 

            The Bengals play at home vs. Hidden Valley on Thurs. 9/11/2008.

Game Three        Home    vs.          Hidden Valley

               

                Result:             Lost   26 - 0

 

            The Junior Varsity Team was a part of Monday Night Football when they played Hidden Valley in a rain postponed game from last Thursday.  Hidden Valley showed they liked Monday Night Football by defeating the young Bengals 26 – 0.

 

            The Bengals play at Christiansburg on Thurs. 9/18/2008.

Game Four                 Away     vs.   Christiansburg

               

                Result:             Lost   40 - 0

 

            The Junior Varsity Team played their second game in the same week and signs of being tired showed up in Christiansburg.  The Bengals had trouble getting things going on offense and Christiansburg took advantage of a tired defense in recording the 40 – 0 win.

 

            The Bengals play at home vs. McMichael (NC) on Thurs. 9/25/2008.

Game Five           Home    vs.          McMichael

               

                Result:             Won        7 - 6

 

            The Junior Varsity Team got their first win of the season Thursday with a 7 – 6 come from behind victory against McMichael High School, out of North Carolina.  The Bengals trailed late in the fourth quarter when Cole Campbell found Antonio Penn in the endzone for the only score.  Zack Atwood added the extra point for the victory. 

 

            The Bengals play at home vs. Patrick County  on Thurs. 10/02/2008.

Game Six            Home    vs.          Patrick County

               

                Result:             Won        19 - 14

 

            The Junior Varsity Team continued the winning they started last week with a home victory against Patrick County.  The Bengals played well on both sides of the ball recording their second win of the season.  Congratulations to Coach Larry Wylie, Coach Michael McCormick, and the Bengal Junior Varsity Players.  Keep up the hard work.

            The Bengals play at Tunstall  on Thurs. 10/09/2008.

Game Seven        Away     vs.          Tunstall

               

                Result:             Lost         17 - 0

 

            The Junior Varsity Team traveled to Dry Fork, Virginia on Thursday and took on the Tunstall Trojans.  Tunstall came out and took an early 17 – 0 lead and held on in the second half for the win.  The Junior Bengals fought hard, but just couldn’t get anything going on offense. 

            The Bengals play at Jefferson Forrest  on Thurs. 10/23/2008.

Game Eight         Away     vs.   Jefferson Forest

               

                Result:             Lost         26 - 12

 

            The Junior Varsity Team traveled to  Bedford, Virginia on Thursday and took on the Jefferson Forrest Cavaliers.  Scoring touchdowns for the Junior Bengals were Cole Campbell and Patrick Blankenship. 

            The Bengals play at home vs. Martinsville on Thurs. 10/30/2008.

Game Nine          Home    vs.   Martinsville

               

                Result:             Lost         16 - 7

 

            The Junior Varsity Team hosted the Bulldogs from Martinsville on Thursday and fell 16 – 7 in a tough battle with cross-town rivals.  The score was tied 7 – 7 when the Junior Bengals were forced to punt inside their own five yard line.  The rush was intense as a safety was recorded to give the visitors a 9 – 7 lead.  The Bengals had chances down the stretch but came up short.  Martinsville added a touchdown late for the final score.

            The Bengals play at Magna Vista on Thurs. 11/06/2008 in their final game of the season.

Game Ten           Home    vs.   Magna Vista

               

                Result:             Won                29 - 28

 

            The Junior Varsity Team finished their season on a positive note Thursday traveling to Magna Vista and defeating the Warriors 29 – 28, in overtime.  Magna Vista jumped out to a 14 – 0 lead, but Harley Workman took a fumble the distance to cut the lead in half.  The Bengals would not be denied as they tied the score in the 3rd quarter.  Magna Vista would take another lead, but the Junior Bengals would tie the score again at 22 at the end of regulation.  Magna Vista scored on the first play of overtime to go ahead 28 – 22, but would fail on the extra point attempt.  The Bengals scored in overtime and Zack Atwood gave the Bengals the win with the extra point kick.
